The mission of Boston GreenScene is to connect, highlight, and amplify the organizations, businesses, and individuals who are working to build a sustainable present and future in the Greater Boston Area and Massachusetts.
We showcase local events, initiatives, legislation, and unique aspects of the Boston and Massachusetts green community. Whether you are a local organic cafe, a Fortune 500 company greening your headquarters, or a student collecting signatures for clean energy sign ups, Boston GreenScene works on your behalf to connect people, news, and commentary from all sectors and backgrounds.
We are, above all, a network of people like you! If you'd like to post or collaborate on events, contribute articles, be listed in our Local Green Directory, or get involved in any way, please drop us a line or pick up the phone and call us: 203-470-8020. We are eager to hear from you.
HEATHER BURNS is the founder of GreenScenes and a sustainability strategist who helps companies, organizations and industries connect sustainability to their core business and effectively communicate their initiatives for greatest impact. She is a catalyzer of United States Green Parking Council; a founding member of Social Enterprise Trust and partner in ALIVE Communities.
Her interest in sustainability began while working in Thailand as a SCUBA Dive Master in 1999, where she spearheaded a community outreach program called Save the Reef to educate local fishermen about the negative environmental impact caused by over fishing. But an "ah-ha" moment while commuting to work in Connecticut with her two small children in the car--when she realized the indoor air was as toxic as the plume of smoke coming from trucks on the highway--cemented the deal that she would spend the rest of her days on the planet working to revive it. She' enjoys getting random phone calls from people looking to advance the mission of creating a better planet and can be reached by dialing 203-470-8020.
