Well it looks like Hummers may be on their way out! According to a report today on Marketplace, GM showed the largest decline in the sale of trucks and SUVs in TWENTY THREE years and they're not waiting around to see if it's a fad.
"General Motors was down 28 percent, which contributed to this announcement from the company this morning: it's going to close four factories where it makes trucks and SUVs, it's going to offload or perhaps completely retool the Hummer brand and in the process, save a billion dollars a year."
Instead, the latest news from GM corporate reports they'll release an ELECTRIC CAR by 2010. Looks like the race is on...
And I wonder who's kicking themselves for all of those perfectly good EVs they smashed as shown in Who Killed the Electric Car?
