WATER WONDERS -A Family Day of Water Education and Activities (Branford)
Join Projects for a New Millennium (P2K) and local environmental and education groups for Water Wonders, a family day of water education and activities. This free day-long event includes activities for families, story telling, a film series, and a variety of hands-on education programs presented by close to two dozen participating organizations. A fun way for families to explore our connection to water, and to develop a greater understanding about conservation and stewardship of the earth. It also offers visitors a chance to learn about local environmental efforts. The event is sponsored by the Watershed Fund: Regional Water Authority, the David Bermant Foundation, and the Town of Branford.
From 10am-12pm gather for children’s stories and activities about water at the library followed by “Water Counts,” -a short-film series from 12:30-2:30 (Visitors are encouraged to bring a bag lunch). At 2:30pm Make your way to the Green for activities including touch tanks, information on the Osprey and Horseshoe crab programs, Coastguard Sea Partners, boat building, and much more. End the day with “Evening Luminary,” a celebration of light and water at 7pm. Don’t miss the luminary sculpture made of water bottles, created by Branford High School students.
